Why do people blog? Why do people feel the need to share their information across the internet? These questions came to me while I was trying to figure out what to write for a post on my new blog. I could not think of anything to write. Most people my age would simply begin to ramble about what is going on in their lives. I do not write about or share my life over the internet. Why? Because nobody wants to read about my life. How do I know that nobody will take the time to read about my life? Because I hate reading about everyone else's life. This goes beyond the actual blogging done on websites such as Blogger and Wordpress. It boggles my mind that people actually want to share their personal problems with the world through mediums such as Facebook, Twitter, and the almost dead Myspace.
I am on the verge of breaking up with Facebook. The only reason that I don't delete my account is for the random people or organizations that use Facebook as their only source of communication. So unless I want to disconnect myself from these people or organizations, I have to be involved with Facebook. I already miss a lot of information because I never log in. I hate getting on because I get so irritated when I scroll through the never ending posts and see so many people treat Facebook like a it's a fucking psychiatrist.
People feel so comfortable shooting all of their problems and feelings into the largest gathering of people in the world. But if you were to ask these people about their problems or emotions they would either be embarrassed or offended that you are getting in their business. **NEWS FLASH**. Facebook is not a person, it doesn't have an education, it doesn't comprehend what you tell it, and it can not make your boyfriend quit cheating on you. Facebook does not care about you, and chances are neither do the "friends" on your page. That might sound mean but its true. Let's be honest. Your Facebook friends probably don't give a shit about your emotional state and they definitely don't want to be involved with your personal problems. Do you want people constantly telling you about the negative atmosphere in their life? Didn't think so, so quit being one of those people. Worry about yourself. And when times get tough.... QUIT YOUR BITCHING & SUCK IT UP!
So, your probably wondering why I am writing a blog. Simple Answer. Because I have to. No, I am not craving the attention of my peers. I am not trying to make people feel sorry for me. I am writing this blog because it is required for a class. Yep, for school.

UTSA Spring 2014 Frost Distinguished Lecture Series
Red McCombs made a visit to UTSA today.
Every semester UTSA hosts the Frost Distinguished Lecture Series which is an event that brings in prominent guest speakers to share their stories. This year they were able to get Red McCombs to attend. He spoke to students and faculty about his business and life experiences. During his speech he covered a wide variety of topics including his success with Clear Communications and his personal stories that altered his life.
The business topics he covered were facinating. Red told the audience about his experiences with owning sports teams and how building great teams was essential for all areas of businesses. I also learned that his car dealership is 6th largest in the US.
Red McCombs opened up for questions at the end of the speech. Someone from the audience asked, "what was something you had to overcome in your life to be where you are now?". He opened up to the audience and told us about how he used to be an alcoholic until he almost lost his life. He said that he has not had a drink since 1977. The audience cheered after his emotional testimonial.
